The crowning and longest multisport event on the Wasatch Front … RaceTri is excited to announce a new venue location for the annual UTAH HALF long course triathlon … a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run triathlon. If you are a seasoned triathlete, put this into your schedule and experience an amazing event. Or if you are looking to jump up from sprint and olympic distances, this is your graduation present. The long course triathlon requires more training and intensity but as many will attest, the satisfaction of completing one is also increased. Are you ready to go long … the long course? Swim 1.2 Miles For you veterans of the Utah Half Long Course this swim will be a new experience for you! Now swimming in gorgeous, pristine mountain water, you are going to love this swim! The temperature will be in the low to mid 60s, a wetsuit is HIGHLY recommended. Conditions are often perfect for an open water PR out of the Rock Cliff Marina. Swim Caps & WETSUITS
Wetsuit is mandatory. The water temperature is in the low 60s therefore we highly recommend swimming with a neoprene swim cap or at least multiple swim caps to add some insulation warmth. The Swim caps issued can then be worn on the outside.
TRANSITION AREA
Only athletes are allowed in the transition areas, please instruct family members and friends to stay outside of the transition area.
TIMING
Electronic chip timing of the event will be provided. All participants will be timed and provided with 5 split times (swim, T1, Bike, T2, Run). Instructions for chip use will be provided at the pre-race briefing. A lost or misplaced timing chip will result in a $20 fee.
SPECTATORS
Spectators will park at Francis and take the shuttle into the park. While the shuttle is free it is $2 per person to enter the park (This park fee for athletes is part of the registration fee and therefor will not be charged) However spectators will be asked by the shuttle driver for the park fee. Exact change is appreciated. The shuttle will run constantly throughout the day between the francis parking lot and Race Central.
AT THE END OF THE DAY
Athletes can take the shuttle to Francis, get their vehicle, drive to Race Central, retrieve their race stuff and exit. Please be very careful as racers and pedestrians may still be very active.
Relay Teams
The “biker” Relay team member will wait inside the transition area at the bike rack location where the “swimmer” will transfer the timing chip from one team member to another. The “runner” relay team member will be waiting in the same place for the “biker” to return. Each team will be issued one timing chip, one swim cap, and one bib number.
Refund: There will be no refunds, no exceptions.
Transfers: There are no transfers (giving up your spot to another person), except for relay team members – *see note below.
Deferrals: Deferrals for medical reasons will be handled on a case by case basis.
*Those on relay teams must find a replacement. There are no refunds or deferrals for relay teams or team members.
Same Day Registrations: There will be NO same day registration.
If you know someone who will be at the race cheering you on and they can lend a helping hand with front row race action as a volunteer please have them contact: aaronshamy@hotmail.com

SPRINT & OLYMPIC
We are pleased to be able to offer these additional distances at this Toughman Utah Half event. This is a fantastic course and being part of the crowning multisport event on the wasatch front is exciting and noteworthy for those not quite ready to go the full half iron distance yet. Become familiar with the above instructions as they will apply to the sprinters and olympic racers with the exception of the maps. We will post the maps below. If you are familiar with the old Rock Cliff Triathlon then you are familiar with these maps:
Olympic Bike & Run
Please watch for signage on the course as some adjustments will be made; RED Signs indicated Bike directions, Green signs indicate Run directions.
RaceTri has a no Refund Policy – If something comes up, and you can’t race, please reach out and contact us and we will see what we can do to partially defer your entry fee to another race. No deferment will be made if the request is made within 7 days of the race.
