The AF Fitness Center has had problems in the past with too many people using the bathroom facilities. The water pressure eventually gets low enough that the toilets won’t flush. To eleviate this problem we will have portable toilets available. We encourage athletes to use these.
We will have a table for eye glasses just inside the bubble. Please use this only for that purpose. It will be marked.
TIMING CHIPS & BODY MARKING
Timing Chips can be picked up race morning. When you pick up your timing chip make sure you know your race number and are issued the corresponding timing chip. Body Markings will consist of your number being written in black marker on your arm along with your age written on your calf. In addition a 0-5 will be marked on your hand. Please tell the body markers your swim time for 300 meters based on a 0-5 scale. See Below
START & HAND MARKING Your hand will be marked with 0-5 based on your 300 meter swim split:0 Sub 5:00 1 5:00 – 5:30 2 5:30 – 6:00 3 6:00 – 6:30 4 6:30 – 7:30 5 7:30 and Over
As the race begins athletes will line up according to their swim number, the more accurate athletes can be the less congestion in the pool. As you enter the pool be sure to cross over the timing mat this will engage the timing chip around your ankle. Enter the pool feet first – NO DIVING.
A swim cap will be issued in every packet and MUST BE worn during the swim portion of the race. We will be enforcing this at the start line, NO CAP, NO RACE. This is done as a security measure to discourage bandits.
